Frequently Asked Questions

What's a private cruise?

A private cruise is just that - you and your chosen passengers are the only ones on the cruise (besides the captain and mate!) All of our cruises are currently private cruises. So, if you are a family of 4 and you book a mini-cruise, you will be the only 4 passengers on the boat; same if you book a custom charter.  Reservations are required for all cruises Click here to see the calendar and book.

What's the difference between a "Mini-Cruise" and a "Custom Charter Cruise"?

A Mini-Cruise runs the same route near downtown Stuart on the weekends only, and lasts for 45 minutes.  A Custom Charter Cruise is a minimum of 1 hour, is tailored just for you, and runs on weekdays and weekend evenings. So, if you'd like to spend time at the Stuart Sandbar, and cruise that area, you can. If you'd like to head further south towards Jupiter, or see the St. Lucie Inlet Preserve, or watch the sunset near downtown Stuart, you can.

How long do cruises run and what do they cost?

Mini-Cruises run for 45 minutes and are $15 per person for up to 6 passengers.  Custom Charters are a 1-hour minimum, most run 2 but we can tailor the time to your agenda. Some passengers just want to relax in the sun and sea breezes, some are considering moving to the area and want to view specific locations, and others are celebrating special occasions.  Regardless of the length of time, the fare is the same - $120 per hour for up to 6 passengers.

Do you charge for infants or toddlers?

The Coast Guard limits us to 6 passengers, regardless of the passenger age, so everyone on board counts towards that limit. In order to prevent overloading, our policy is that all fares are paid at the time of booking, and then after the cruise, we will refund the infant's fare, based on the captain's observations.  Toddlers and older children are full-fare.

Can I bring "adult beverages"?

Yes, you can!  Feel free to bring any food and drinks you'd like.  One caveat:  glass is not a good idea around the water.  Aluminum cans or paper containers are a better choice.  We provide ice and water.

What about the weather?

Welcome to Florida!  Our captain is US Coast Guard master licensed, and an experienced local guide.  Your enjoyment and safety is our priority.  We are continually checking tides, winds and other conditions that could affect the area.  In the event we need to cancel a cruise due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you have a choice to rebook right away, receive a credit to rebook at a later date, or receive a refund.

Can I bring a small pet?

Yes, well behaved pets are welcome!  Owners are responsible for any damage done by the pet.

Is there a restoom on board?

We don't have a restroom on board.  The River Walk and Sandsprit have public restrooms nearby, which you are able to use prior to departure.

We want music - can we bring our own?

We have a Bluetooth stereo system and a few cool playlists.  If you'd rather bring your own playlist, feel free!  We'll cruise to your tunes!

What's the difference between a pontoon boat and a regular boat?

Our pontoon is actually a tritoon - 3 pontoons.  Pontoon boats handle waves much more gently than vee hulls and are great for cruising. Instead of a jarring motion moving through a wave trough, pontoons gently glide.  Pontoons can run in as little as 18 inches of water, so they can travel in shallow areas a vee hull would not be able to reach.  Our pontoon is seriously comfy!
